Unreleased

Famously used by the Beastie Boys, the Geto Boys, Will Smith and countless others, “Yes Yes Y’all” may be the oldest rap ad-lib in the book – or it would be, if writing it down in a book didn’t totally defeat the purpose of an ad-lib. With this new, unreleased joint (his first feature since last September’s Maino Nation), Maino puts his own spin on the classic phrase, joining forces with a fellow Big Apple native for a retro-informed ode to the hustle. Supported by GQ Beats’ street ready instrumental, fueled by squelching synths and a stark kick-snare rhythm, the artist details the cycle of hard work and revelry that constitutes his daily grind: “Different club, same night, different girl, same type, fall asleep, up again, different day, same life.G-Unit alum Lloyd Banks takes over on verse two, sharing the roll-with-the-punches philosophy that elevated him to the superstar status he enjoys today: “Make mistakes, wipe ‘em all away as I change my pace.” Like what you’re hearing? This joint isn’t set for inclusion on any forthcoming project, but Maino fans can, as always, keep it locked for the latest!
