Mark Ronson ft. Ghostface Killah - Lose It (In the End)

By | 6 years ago
Artist: Mark Ronson
Track: Lose It (In the End)
Producer: Mark Ronson
Album: Record Collection

Although his name isn’t likely to come up in conversations about the best producers in the game, Mark Ronson’s been one of hip-hop’s most known-unknown beatsmiths for years. Most famous for his work with Amy Winehouse, Ronson and his Allido Records are also the sonic brains behind Wale and Rhymefest, so now that he’s working on his own solo project, it’s only right that he gets some of rap’s finest to join him (see previous offering Bang Bang ft. Q-Tip). This time around it’s Wu-alumnus Ghostface Killah who finds himself squaring off with another of Ronson’s distinctly original beats on Lose It (In the End). Part spaghetti western, part mod rock, Lose It’s beat would intimidate most emcees, but Ghost doesn’t flinch, somehow managing to work in both references to Bel Biv Devoe and his psychiatrist in the opening verse alone. Love it or hate it, I’m sure you’ve never heard anything like it, and for that I’m glad I’ve found Lose It. Ronson’s sure-to-be-high-quality upcoming album Record Collection drops September 27, in his native U.K.  and October 5, in good ol’ America.
