MarkmyWords - Wage War

Fall From Grace

On December 26, 1941, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill addressed the US Congress with an inspiring speech that contained the immortal (if Yoda-esque) line, “Sure I am that this day, now, we are the masters of our fate… that the task which has been set us is not above our strength..” He was actually talking about the Allied offensive against Hitler in Libya but, hey, I guess that applies equally well to Booth newcomer MarkmyWords, who rallies the troops to Wage War against the forces of wackness on this fresh new single. Supported by the syncopated guitar riffs and rolling breakbeats of Y-Test, the Cali native unloads his highest-caliber lyrical artillery at the sucker emcees, blasting them for their ignorance and their lack of passion for the art: “Your vision appears weak if you can’t see the picture / you call yourself a writer but you don’t read the literature.” A “skilled assassin” whom underground heads will undoubtedly be proud to have on their side, Mark is set to showcase even more high-quality new material on his Fall From Grace LP, due out May 19, via Block McCloud‘s Disturbia Music Group.
