Maybach Music Group ft. Kendrick Lamar - Power Circle

Posted 4 years ago
Featuring:
Producer:
Lee Major
Album:

When you’ve got the entire MMG roster (minus Omarion) appearing on the same cut, you expect a banging, DJ Khaled-esque posse cut, right? Wrong. Instead el generalissimo Rick Ross decides to take things in a completely different direction, showcasing his crew’s lyrical prowess on new release Power Circle. Producer Lee Major lays down a slowly unwinding piano beat that allows Ross to kick off the festivities with a short opening verse/introduction before stepping aside for Gunplay to get aggressive on the mic. From there it’s MMG’s youngest member, Stalley, to really up the lyrical ante, a wordplay driven challenge that Wale is more than able to meet on his verse, and then Philly boss Meek Mill finishes the MMG crew’s offerings with a solid verse of his own. But, as always, it’s the visiting Kendrick Lamar who overshadows the home team, laying down some of the unique flows that have earned him a spot near the top of the emcee food chain. With a change of pace like this I officially don’t know what to expect when MMG’s Self Made Vol. 2 drops, I just know to expect it on June 26.
