¡MAYDAY! - The Barricade

Posted 3 years ago
Producer:
Baauer
Album:

In the new cinematic adaptation of Les Mis, when the student revolutionaries are gunned down by Republican forces behind their makeshift barricade, their sacrifice is gut-wrenching to the average viewer. Strange Music crew ¡MAYDAY!, on the other hand, watched the scene and thought, “This is our kind of party!” On the latest song release off their recent, DJBooth-hosted mixtape, Wrek, Bernbiz and company use urban warfare as an unlikely metaphor for the Miami nightlife, encouraging revelers (especially attractive, female ones), to “party till the bodies hit The Barricade.” Diplo-affiliated producer Bauuer‘s club-ready Harlem Shake instrumental backs their bars, and Bernz himself directs the record’s raucous official video. For more, check out new, Green Lantern-hosted street album Smash & Grab, available in the Booth as of December 20.
