Mean Doe Green ft. Raekwon & Planet Asia - Blue Ribbon Rap

Posted 5 years ago
Featuring:
Producer:
Hippie Sabotage & Chase Moore
Album:
Mean Doe Green

While Mean Doe Green no longer goes by the name Doey Rock, listeners shouldn’t be fooled; as he proves with his latest offering, he’s still one of the meanest doing it. Hailing from Cali, the emcee will certainly make a memorable first impression on the percentage of the Hip-Hop world that hasn’t heard him before on his new single, Blue Ribbon Rap.  Produced by Hippie Sabotage & Chase Moore, their RZA influences are apparent in the instrumental as abstract sounds lace the gritty beat, matching the hard hitting rhymes of Green very well: “Left lane/ Night train/ I deliver/ State liquor.” Guests Planet Asia and the chef Raekwon also seem right at home over the banging production, increasing Rock’s buzz with their high profile appearances. But crucially the headliner holds his own among the veteran rappers, and greatly increases his stature in the process. Expect this joint to be a standout on Green’s upcoming self-titled album, due out March 1, and don’t forget to check out the Sac-Town emcee’s DJBooth Freestyle.
