Meyhem Lauren x Buckwild - Silk Shirts and Yellow Gold

Posted 2 years ago
Producer:
Buckwild
Album:
Silk Pyramids

As many will learn on Silks Shirts and Yellow Gold, when you sit down at a table with Meyhem Lauren, you can either “share wisdom or shoot.” On the first single from their upcoming collaborative album Silk Pyramids, the Outdoorsman is joined by DITC producer Buckwild to take a grim look at Queens, NY when the lights go out. With a beat that could have been taken from Mobb Deep’s unused vaults, Meyhem explains why he grew up surrounding himself with family or acquaintances—no friends. Although he only puts in two verses, the “Tijuana trip taking” Don packs enough imagery to make his case to have his face chiseled in the Mt. Rushmore of Hip-Hop. Hence, providing a good example on his first solo feature on DJBooth. Look out for Silk Pyramids, due out May 27 via Thrice Great Records.
