Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball (Roxpin Trap Remix)

Posted 2 years ago
Producer:
Teddy Roxpin

On her latest LP, Miley Cyrus sought (with a little help from her stable of hitmaking producers) to infuse hip-hop and trap influences into her sound, but hit second single Wrecking Ball stuck close to safe power-ballad territory. For a more audacious take on the song, we turn to Teddy Roxpin, a Boston native whose instrumentals have graced jams by Mac Miller, Future and Hoodie Allen (to name a few). In place of Dr. Luke and Cirkut‘s original beat, the 21-year-old producer serves up an arrangement driven by grainy synths, chopped vocal samples and earth-shaking 808 percussion. Is this remix an improvement over the album version? That, my friends, is for you to decide. In any case, you can cop the latter as part of Cyrus’s junior set, Bangerz, available in stores and online as of October 2013.
