MØ ft. Diplo - XXX 88

Featuring:
Producer:
Diplo
Album:
Untitled EP

A Copenhagen-based singer/songwriter signed to Sony Music Entertainment UK, Karen Marie Ørsted (aka ) introduces her eclectic style to our pages with new single XXX 88. Part of a forthcoming EP, this cut strikes a delicate balance between offbeat weirdness and instant-gratification appeal. The singer-songwriter’s lyrics are every bit as opaque as the record’s title, but her smoky vocal melody blends with Diplo‘s sinuous production to irresistible effect. The resulting cut will sound right at home on the pop airwaves, alongside similarly left-of-center hits by Lana Del Rey and Lorde. Tim Erem directs the quirky official visuals, featuring a brief cameo from the Mad Decent beatsmith as an underwear model. The project to which this record will be attached currently lacks both a title and a drop date, but fans will be able to cop XXX 88 via iTunes on Sunday, October 20.
