Mod Sun likes to refer to himself as a hip-hop hippie, and while the man may share an affinity for THC-related paraphernalia and an aversion to cutting his hair, Sun’s obviously not so much of a hippie that he would refuse to hit the dance floor and have a good time. On All Night, Every Night, released as an official iTunes single last Tuesday, Mod declares his willingness to throw down (and maybe throw up) any night of the week. The Bloomington, MN native grabs Dave Siegel for an instrumental that’s more disco than hippie, an up-tempo shaker that isn’t afraid to lay down some serious synth lines. It’s a beat just begging for teen sensation The Ready Set to throw down some party-hyping vocals on while Sun promises that you’ve never seen anyone rage as hard as him – unless you happened to tour with Motley Crue in the mid-‘90s. Whatever you call it, fans eager to listen to Sun’s feel good brand of hip-hop can find much more from the man on his hilarious titled Blazed By the Bell mixtape, available across the interwebs right now.
