Monty C. Benjamin - Intro

Posted 2 years ago
Producer:
Arkane Beats
Album:
Yo! MCB Raps

A Cincinnati-repping up-and-comer signed to indie label Khimera Records, LLC., Monty C. Benjamin introduces himself to The DJBooth with the Intro track off his latest street album. While the artist’s bars here are light on biographical detail, fans will nonetheless walk away from this cut feeling like they know him. Over the leisurely string loops of Arkane Beats, he alludes to his beginnings as an emcee (“Understand me, I’ve been inside of my rhyming ways since ‘Dr. Dre, don’t just stand there, operate!’”) and gleefully taunts his competition (“Ricochet your latest track into the CD: closest dumpster.”). As he spits, he exhibits a dynamic flow and engaging mic presence that will likely prove irresistible to heads in the Booth. If you’re feeling it, more freshness awaits on the artist’s Yo! MCB Raps street album, out now online.
