I Heard It Today

The sun shines brightly, and its rays enable life to grow and flourish on Earth. On Mr. Lif‘s new single, The Sun, the veteran rapper sheds some light on his life philosophy, as well as the issues faced by today’s African-American youth. Assisted by producer Headnodic, who fills the record with a thumping bassline and futuristic synths, Lif takes the opportunity to drive home some powerful truths.  The emcee’s forthcoming album, I Heard It Today is set to drop in the first quarter of 2009.  If this single is any indication, the LP’s release will find the emcee shining brighter than the sun.
