Muigai Hakir ft. Odeosa - Feelin’ You

The Real

A buzzmaking emcee hailing from the Bay State, Muigai Hakir makes his grand entrance into the DJBooth with freshly-minted LP single Feelin’ You. As the title suggests, this cut finds the unsigned rhymesayer spitting game to a lucky lady, but his approach is refreshingly down-to-earth. Over the mellow sample work of HD (not to be confused with this HD, the emcee who brought us On the Mic), Hakir braces himself to strike up a conversation with a “Nubian queen in tight jeans.” When he finally works up the nerve makes a move, the “shy poet” has no trouble convincing her to be the Nia Long to his Ice Cube. Complete with soulful hook and backing vocals by Odeosa, this cut is just one of many bangers to be found on The Real, released earlier this week for digital purchase.
