Mya ft. Bun B - Show Me Something

Album:
Beauty In The Streets (Vol. 1)

Wondering where Mya‘s been for the last few years? Well, she’s split most of her time between Japan (where she released her fourth and fifth albums, Liberation and Sugar and Spice) and Houston (she was featured on Bun B‘s Good II Me and Z-Ro‘s Tired, both of which get constant spins on my hard drive).  Now, she’s back, and she’s linked her Planet 9 label with J-Prince Jr.‘s Young Empire Music to release her sixth set, Beauty In The Streets (Vol. 1).  On new single Show Me Something, Mya once again looks to the Dirty South for inspiration, hoping to ride into the sunset with a local d-boy.  Fortunately, Bun B is ready, willing, and able to fill that position—he only asks that she treat him like the boss he is.  Producer Bottz’ synth-heavy beat might not appeal to devotees of Mya’s early work, but the singer’s “first lady of the South” status should help her attract a new fanbase in anticipation of Beauty In The Streets (Vol. 1)‘s arrival this fall.
