Nas - It Ain’t Hard to Tell (Remix)

Large Professor
Album:

Next month, Nas will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of his epochal Illmatic LP with a digital re-release of the album. In addition to the 10 tracks that every hip-hop head knows and loves, this version of the Queensbridge vet’s debut set will feature an additional disc’s worth of remixes, freestyles, unreleased songs and B-Sides. For a taste of the previously-unheard material in store, simply hit play on this revamped version of second single It Ain’t Hard to Tell. The rapper’s immortal bars are retained verbatim, but the production has received a makeover. Who does the honors? None other than Large Professor, the veteran beatsmith behind the original jam. Though his production here is more straightforward and melodic than the swirling sample work that graced the album version, its head-nodding throwback vibe is sure to please Nasty Nas’s longtime fans. Curious what else the hip-hop legend has up his sleeve? Then be sure to cop Illmatic XX when it drops via Columbia on Tuesday, April 15.
