Nemotional

To date the featured leaks off Nemo Achida‘s Booth-sponsored mixtape have been uniformly chill and laid-back—and what else would you expect from joints titled “Stoop Music” and “Wasting Time”? A glance at the title of the project itself, however, reveals that things were bound to get Nemotional. On leak numero trois, the Kentucky spitter digs a little deeper. With Northern Lights’ bittersweet, blues/soul-sampled production (featuring an iconic vocal snippet from Eric B. for President) as his backdrop, Achida spits about the price he’s paid, and the inner demons he’s battled in order to make it this far in the game: “Bet you wonder how I could get along with devils / Even from above young’n had to deal with several / Please don’t be offended, I’ve already surrendered everything but my thoughts, that is not to be bought. Held me for ransom, tortured me, wanted answers…” Through it all, however, he maintains the confident and determined tone that fans have come to know and love. Does this introspective jam leave you fiending for more? Then be sure to cop Nemotional (the mixtape) when it hits The DJBooth for free streaming and download on November 15.
