Nemo Achida - Stoop Music

Northern Lights

Ask any native west coaster what their favorite Stoop Music is and they’ll look at you with a blank stare: “You mean what’s my favorite Snoop music?” But those outside of Cali, like Nemo Achida, know exactly what music’s needed for an afternoon posted on the stoop. His first feature since July’s reader-approved John Stockton, Stoop Music (finally in high quality, CDQ form after leaking earlier this year) gets its sonic heart from Northern Lights, who puts together an appropriately organic and mellowed-out beat complete with soft strings and shaking percussion. From there it’s up to Nemo to paint the scene as he takes listeners on a ride from the stoop to the whip to wherever you are: “This is that posted on the stoop music / imagining you and your brothers in the coupe music/ flying above the seven seas like you’re used to it.” Regardless of your proximity to the nearest stoop you’ll want to keep an eye out for Nemo’s upcoming, cleverly titled album Nemotional, dropping for free stream and direct download on November 15 via The DJBooth.
