Nipsey Hussle - Payback

Bullets Ain’t Got No Name (Vol. 3)

In the midst of our current economic struggles, it’s easy to forget that, after nearly six long years at war, America’s still got a big, steaming mess to clean up in Iraq—not to mention, Osama bin Laden remains at large.  Here to remind us is Nipsey Hussle, whose newly-released mixtape cut, Payback, sees the Slauson boy stepping onto his soapbox to let listeners know exactly what he thinks of the ongoing conflict overseas, as well as the violence and poverty that still plague our inner-city streets.  While the conspiracy theorizing gets a little out of hand (are we really supposed to believe that a man who nearly choked to death on a pretzel managed to orchestrate 9/11 and successfully cover it up?), Hussle’s lyrics are hard-hitting and largely on-point, and 1500 or Nothin‘s beat amps up the tension with spare piano and choral synths.  Bullets Ain’t Got No Name (Vol. 3) is set to drop this spring, and fans should stay tuned for our exclusive coverage of The Game‘s LAX tour, which features Hussle and fellow Left Coast emcee Jay Rock as openers.
