Noah Jones ft. Sly Boogy - We Don’t Need Them

Posted 6 years ago
Producer:
Andrew Lloyd
Album:
The Incinerator

Well aware that pleasing everyone is an impossible task, Noah Jones doesn’t let the doubters get him down – as he puts it on this newly-leaked mixtape inclusion (making its world premiere in the Booth!), “N*ggas gonna hate, but We Don’t Need Them.” Over Andrew Lloyd‘s midtempo beat, driven by G-funk synths and pensive piano chords, Jones takes on the game’s all-too-numerous fakes, delivering confident bars peppered with inventive wordplay and quotable punchlines. Between the headliner’s opening and closing verses, Inland Empire emcee Sly Boogy steps up to the mic to amp up the aggression with some booming trash talk. Like fellow West Coast revivalist Nipsey Hussle (who assisted him on his first Booth feature), Noah Jones comes with a classic Cali sound and hard-nosed rhymes to match. Does he have what it takes to achieve Hussle’s level of Booth acclaim? We’ll have to wait till Oct. 23, when The Incinerator hits the ‘net, to find out for sure.
