Novel - Video Games

Producer:
Justin Parker, RoboPop
Album:
Red Wine & Ambien

Hipster rock/pop phenom Lana Del Rey’s popular hit Video Games has inspired Freestyle Series alum Novel to release his own masculine rendition of the waltzy track, premiering right here right now at The DJBooth. Off his forthcoming free LP, Red Wine & Ambien, the singer/producer/songwriter employs his chameleon-esque vocals to embrace a more rock-sensitive approach to the original production by Justin Parker and RoboPop. While Novel’s talents cover the entire musical spectrums - singing, rapping, songwriting, production and Lord knows what else - this particular remake showcases his artistry in a way that would make him a prize pick in genre’s outside of Hip-Hop. Embracing the melody and message of the original Video Games, Novel’s version is made even more intriguing as he lays out his desires of a simple relationship with someone who doesn’t want the same. If you can’t get with this smooth ballad then I’d suggest a glass of Merlot and something to ease your mind mind; no one should be able to resist a cover like this one. Keep checking back for updates on the release of Red Wine & Ambien – you can trust us not to play games when it comes to good music.
