In an age of information sometimes a little mystery is a good thing. So while I frankly don’t know much about Olu other than that he’s from Ohio and is making his debut on The DJBooth debut, that will just allow us to focus on new release Exhale. Producer Ryan McGowan has put together a darkly unwinding beat centered around an absolutely haunting vocal sample. It’s the perfect setting for Olu and guest artist Sia to dig into some seriously complex relationship issues – I think we can all relate to this one. It’s certainly enough to leave me wanting to know more about Olu, including any plans for a larger project, but for now I’ll just have to Exhale and enjoy some new music.
