None (Promo Single)

If you tuned in for the season premiere of Breaking Bad on Sunday, you already know that, when dealing with Walter White, it’s best to tread lightly. With that said, listeners who swallow their trepidation and hit play on P.SO‘s latest promo single are sure to appreciate the Brooklyn-repping reader fave’s homage to the acclaimed AMC series. The Earth Tone King turns in a characteristically impressive performance on the mic, peppering his intricate bars with callouts to characters and situations in the show: “This track bumps hard like going over a pot hole. / Jesse Pinkman redemption mixed with the soul of Gustavo.” Rather than going the obvious route and flipping the theme music, The Soundmen establish a similar mood through different means, basing his instrumental around a moody sample from Fad Gadget’s State of the Nation. This joint isn’t attached to a larger project, but those feeling it can hear more on P.SO’s most recent project, LP/graphic novel combo Gateway to Greatness.
