Ring Side Seats: The Weigh In

If you’re an avid viewer of The Wire, you probably know Panama as “‘that guy who kept beating up Bubbles.” Though it’s the Brooklyn-born, Baltimore-based emcee’s work on the silver screen that’s earned him the most recognition thus far, his contributions to the world of hip-hop will likely become his true claim to fame. On this leaked mixtape track, Panama’s first Booth feature, the up-and-comer demonstrates just how dedicated he is to the rap game, promising his doubters that he and his crew are going to, “Make It Last till we old as f*ck..” Producer Blackjab adds weight to the artist’s impassioned, direct yet poetic rhymes, serving up a sweeping, string-driven Chipmunk-soul beat sampled from the O’Jays’ classic cut You and Me. Like what you’re hearing? You’re in luck – Panama’s latest street album, Ring Side Seats: The Weigh In , dropped this past June and is available now online. Fans can also check out the official video for this track, which debuted back in September at BET.com.
