Pell - Dollar Store

Posted 2 years ago
Producer:
Ludwig Gorannson
Album:

Stale candy, toothpaste not approved by the American Dental Association, toys that fall apart straight out the box… you name it, the Dollar Store has a sub-par version of it. Pell takes a similarly eclectic approach when it comes to making music but, unlike your local price point retailer, he doesn’t compromise on quality. On single numero dos off his forthcoming full-length, coming on the heels of the reader-acclaimed Eleven:11, the rhymesayer mixes braggadocio, slice-of-life narrative, poignant introspection and motivational lyricism, excelling at every turn. To accompany his verses, which incorporate jagged, Chance the Rapper-esque cadences as well as smoother flows, Ludwig Gorannson cooks up a synth beat that gradually shapeshifts over the course of the cut. Like what you’re hearing? Then stay tuned for more more freshly-minted song releases leading up to the May arrival of Pell’s latest indie full-length, Floating While Dreaming.
