Planet Asia x Killa Kali - Pirate Aura

Posted 4 years ago
Producer:
DirtyDiggs
Album:
Chainstrumentals Volume 2: Stash Box

Just what is it that makes a pirate—is it the eyepatch? The parrot? The swishy Captain Jack Sparrow walk? The tendency to chew on your ‘arrr’s? All good guesses, but no. While Planet Asia and Killa Kali are rocking none of the stereotypical trappings of pirate-dom in their latest single and video, the Golden State rhymesayers still possess that intangible Pirate Aura that separates a true seafaring G from the pretenders. DirtyDiggs, the producer of Montage One‘s Chain Sinatra, handles production duties, cooking up a jazzy beat laced with quirky vocal samples as the collaborators showcase self-confident lyrical swagger worthy of Captain Blackbeard. Top that off with some official visuals by Alejandro Ruiz, and you’ve got the perfect hip-hop concoction to enjoy on the big-screen in your tricked-out schooner (or the comfort of your own home, if you happen not to own a ship). Pirate Aura is part of DirtyDiggs’ latest street album, Chainstrumentals Volume 2: Stash Box, available now for free streaming and download. Planet Asia’s 10th studio album, Black Belt Theater, hit record stores and online retailers this past February.
