PrezSport (El Prez x Jansport J) - Same King

El Prez, an Inglewood rhymesayer with an illustrious track record on our pages, and Jansport J, the Covina-repping beatsmith behind reader-approved mixtape Sport Did It Tho Vol. 1, have joined forces to craft a collaborative full-length as duo PrezSport. Today, we get our first taste of the project in the form of freshly-released lead single Same Kings. On this contemplative cut, described by the artists as a “cautionary tale,” Prez reflects critically on the skewed priorities that keep his people trapped in the hood, and urges young’ns to strive for something more meaningful than “big faces and gold medusas.” Jansport J provides a lush, soul-sampled backdrop for his partner’s bars. Urban $treet Americana is scheduled for free digital release on Wednesday, November 13. In the meantime, you can cop this record, along with its instrumental version and B-Side IFYA, via Bandcamp.
