Network State of Mind Remixtape

On 2010 single Moontones, P.SO reflected on the progress he had made in his career up to that point. Two years’ worth of hustle later, the Earth Tone King has plenty more milestones to celebrate—thus, it could hardly be more appropriate that the record’s been updated for inclusion on his forthcoming “remixtape” with Fresh Daily. Whereas the original floated along on a dreamy yet driving Soundmen production, this rendition swaggers and struts, fueled by Soulmade‘s inspired sampling of ‘70s jazz/soul vocalist Jon Lucien’s Search for the Inner Self. The change in instrumental vibe renders the Brooklyn repper’s triumphant verses even more uplifting, and brings out the humor in his bars. (In one of the most amusing similes I’ve heard in a minute, he claims to be “...feelin’ out of place like a leftist in Texas.”) Fans can find Moontones (Remix), the previously-featured Thanx (Dude26 Remix) and much more on the DJBooth-hosted Network State of Mind Remixtape, scheduled to arrive on our front page this Monday (May 7) for free streaming and download.
