12 Play: Fourth Quarter

Originally scheduled to drop sometime this summer, R. Kelly’s new studio album, 12 Play: Fourth Quarter, has been forced into a holding pattern.  Despite having rolled out the ultra-catchy Hair Braider, Kelly’s recent legal issues (for which he has been acquitted of all charges) forced his label, Jive Records, to pause their full-scale promotional operation.  At any rate, with plenty of work to be done, the Pied Piper of R&B has leaked a potential new single, entitled Playas Get Lonely.  Mirroring the vocal arrangement, melody and production style of Lloyd’s Change Your Life, Kelly details the unglamorous reality that even the biggest mack daddy of all can feel a sense of abandonment from time to time.  Poor Robert—if only there were more females interested in spending time with him.
