Rapper Big Pooh - Friends

On Whodini’s 1984 hit, Friends, the Brooklyn group asked the enthralling question, “Friends, how many of us have them?”  If Rapper Big Pooh‘s latest effort, also titled Friends, is a proper indication then the answer to that question might be somewhat tricky. Within seconds of the song’s opening the self-proclaimed Freshest Fat Boy touches on friendship lost and the bitter feelings that have formed as a result, but by the time the second verse rolls around the tone of the record changes dramatically as the former Little Brother member gives praise to his former friend rather than throwing shots. Parisian producer Astronote puts in work behind the boards as he provides the friendly (or not so friendly) cut with a sample driven, soulful backdrop that will likely serve as audio gold for diehard LB fans. With Rapper Big Pooh’s Fat Boy Fresh V2 album not due out until November 20 we can likely expect to hear a number of fresh offerings from the project in the meantime.
