Ras Kass x Doc Hollywood - I Wave

Posted 4 years ago
Producer:
Doc Hollywood
Album:
Spit No Evil LP

It’s still winter around these parts, but I know I’m not the only person who likes to plot their “Summertime, And The Livin’ Is Easy” playlists well in advance. That being said, new joint I Wave from veteran left coast emcee Ras Kass, featuring producer Doc Hollywood, is a top runner for said playlist. The duo are dropping a collabo album, Spit No Evil, this April, and I Wave does a nice job of setting properly setting the stage for what’s to come. Anyone who’s a sucker for chopped vocal samples will enjoy Doc’s dreamy production topped off with a healthy serving of boom-bap drums – I dare you to try and keep your head from nodding! Ras keeps it matter-of-fact with his delivery, per the usual and he crafts a catchy chorus by repeating the phrase I Wave. This is a great example of “When Keeping It Simple Goes Right” and you get an enjoyable song out of the process. When April rolls around, we’ll be sure to give an exact release date for Spit No Evil, but in the meantime keep I Wave on deck for your listening enjoyment.

Update: Spit No Evil is available for free direct download and stream here.
