REKS ft. DJ Premier - Say Goodnight

Old heads are constantly bemoaning the loss of hip hop’s golden age, when emcees like KRS-One and Guru spat jaw-dropping rhymes over pounding break beats.  REKS will undoubtedly shut them up for awhile.  Set to release his sophomore album, Gray Hairs, on July 22, the Boston artist knows the value of a dope rhyme and a sample-driven beat. That’s why he enlisted the help of the esteemed DJ Premier, whose two-bar breaks and brilliantly integrated samples have caused his followers to whisper “greatest-of-all-time” since the mid-nineties.  Its lead single, Say Goodnight, is an inquiry into the state of the industry.  If you ever find yourself complaining that rap artists these days don’t know real hip hop, just pop in some REKS and let him take you back.
