Rich Boy ft. Game - Ridin Thru My City

Posted 2 years ago
Featuring:
Producer:
Hit-Boy
Album:
None (Promo Single)

Like food items, instrumentals vary when it comes to the length of their shelf lives; some go stale (that is, out of style) in a matter of months, while others still sound dope years down the line. Hopefully, the beat that backs Rich Boy‘s latest promo single falls into the latter category, because Hit-Boy produced it way back in 2008. On Ridin Thru My City, the HS87 kingpin’s atonal brass/string loops, vocal samples and syncopated percussion set the stage for hard-nosed bars from the Alabama mainstay, as well as some gruff guest rhymes courtesy of West Coast heavyweight Game. Is this record fresh, or is it past its sell-by date? Debate away—and keep it locked for more new music from the currently indie artist.
