Rick Ross ft. The-Dream - All I Really Want

Featuring:
Producer:
Tricky Stewart
Album:
Deeper Than Rap

With Deeper Than Rap‘s April 21st release date fast approaching, it goes without saying that Rick Ross is one busy man.  Since the Boss was tied up with a video shoot in sunny Colombia this week, he wasn’t able step inside the Booth for an exclusive interview—next week, however, may be a possibility, so keep your fingers crossed.  In the meantime, fans are sure to enjoy All I Really Want, the newly-released follow-up to lead single Magnificent. The-Dream‘s soulful rendition of the song’s title, backed by a single sitar note, at the very start may lead listeners to expect a fairly by-the-book ladies’ jam, but that first impression will only last, oh, about two seconds—then Tricky Stewart‘s twitchy, propulsive rhythm section kicks in and, after a false start, Ross spits one of the best opening couplets I’ve heard in a while: “She graduated from the School of Arts/ Now she’s swimming in a pool of sharks.”  Dream’s glittering harmonies on the hook are just icing on, well, a delicious pile of icing that’s sure to leave fans even hungrier for the main course.
