Rick Ross - Yella Diamonds

Posted 4 years ago
Producer:
Beat Billionaire
Album:
Rich Forever Mixtape

Whether you’re talking precious stones or crack rocks, Rick Ross won’t settle for anything less than the best. The Maybach Music mogul’s high standards are readily apparent on newly-released single/mixtape standout Yella Diamonds, a street-ready selection which finds him drawing a connection between his jewelry game and his dope game. Over Beat Billionaire‘s production, a bombastic blend of orchestral synths and skittering trap percussion, Ricky Rozay (mostly) sets aside the luxury rap in favor of sheer intimidation. Despite busting out the much-maligned “end-every-line-with-the-word-‘n*gga’” flow, he manages to keep things interesting on the lyrical tip, mixing references to big names in organized crime (“I’m whippin’ cake up like it’s Jacob, n*gga”) with straight-up aggression (“You know they talkin’ home invasion, nigga / Seein’ your daughter scream can be very persuasive, nigga.”). Has this joint whet your appetite for more dope-slinging, paper-stacking bangers? Good—because that’s exactly what you’ll find on Rick Ross’ Rich Forever tape, available via LiveMixtapes as of early January.
