More Songs About Girls

For singers, much of what brings success has to do with knowing what types of songs are right for their voices: Jennifer Hudson can’t do what Whitney Houston can, but Whitney can’t do what Mariah can, and so on and so forth. We all know the tragic consequences of singers building their careers based on songs their voices can’t handle (Milli Vanilli), so needless to say, it’s extremely important. Young crooner Rocki Evans is on the ball, though, and if any rising star knows how to choose the right songs, it’s definitely him. Coming at us with a quasi-cover of Sting’s Shape of My Heart produced by Lady and a Tramp (who also produced his previous Booth feature, Fantastic), Rocki shows us that you don’t have to belt out a song to get everyone’s attention. With a smooth, daydreamy pace, Rocki ensures that we’ll (re)appreciate this ‘90s classic. You’ll find Shape of My Heart on Rocki’s upcoming album More Songs About Girls, set to drop next Tuesday right here on
