Rockwell Powers & DJ Phinisey - Radio

Posted 3 years ago
Featuring:
Producer:
DJ Phinisey
Album:

These days, hip-hop Radio receives a bad rap, especially from emcees and heads of the underground persuasion. You won’t catch Rockwell Powers badmouthing the airwaves, though; disenchanted as the Tacoma native may be with much of what’s currently topping the Billboard charts, he still has fond memories of tuning in to the likes of “Luda, Pac and Outkast” on the way to school in the morning. On this newly-released single, project collaborator DJ Phinisey‘s slow-rolling, synth-driven production sets the mood as Powers reminisces about his lifelong love affair with hip-hop, and the ways in which the genre has changed over the years. In between verses, Phinisey steps out from behind the boards to deliver a powerful sung hook. Fans will be able to find Radio, the reader-approved TWO SIDES and much more on Rockwell Powers and DJ Phinisey’s forthcoming joint album, Build. Keep it locked to our pages for the latest on the project, which as yet lacks a drop date.
