Rocky Fontaine - Aint Sayin A Thang

Posted 5 years ago

Don’t worry—Rocky Fontaine hasn’t given up speech, and therefore rap, in order to serve the Lord as a Trappist monk. (You know, in case anybody besides myself was entertaining that possibility.) Just the opposite, in fact: on the lead single off his forthcoming mixtape, the Philly representative speaks his mind the the fullest extent possible—it’s the haters who Ain’t Sayin’ a Thang. Harmony, the beatsmith behind Chris Breezy‘s F.A.M.E. inclusions Oh My Love and Say It With Me, does his thing behind the boards, layering gritty guitar riffs and ghostly backing vocals over a rolling breakbeat as the freestyle series alumnus surveys his urban environment, dispatches the doubters, and clears up a few misconceptions regarding his burgeoning “DopeBoy” movement: “I have never in my life broke a brick down / Yeah I sold trees as a young n*gga / you think that sh*t’ll make you rich, you a dumb n*gga.” So, are you ready to rally behind Rocky after listening to this rousing joint? Then keep it locked—the artist’s latest mixtape has yet to receive a drop date, but we’ll keep you supplied with the latest news and tunes.
