Hip-popper Sam Adams went from relative unknown to iTunes king so fast he was accused by some of cooking the download numbers, but the Boston native is back in the Booth and ready to prove his initial success was no fluke with his latest leak Heads Will Roll. Essentially a remix of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ track of the same name, Heads Will Roll energetically bounces along on an 80s influenced, Sam Adams, Matty Trump and A-Trak produced beat while Adams takes the reins with rhymes that dodge and weave in and out of the rhythm with lines like the declarative “Don’t compare homeboys to me, I’m in another genre.” You know, he may just have a point there. So how about it Booth? Does this track prove the hype surrounding Adams is warranted, or will he fade away as quickly as he exploded? We’ll find out more when his next project Party Records Mixtape, which will include Heads Will Roll, drops this summer.
