Scram Jones - Fork in the Road

Beast Music Compilation

Most of us, when we come to a figurative Fork in the Road, weigh our options and choose whichever seems likely to lead us in the right direction. Always an out-the-box thinker, NYC mainstay Scram Jones chose both paths when faced with the decision of whether to go the rapper or producer route – and on this new single, he presents yet more proof that he made the best choice possible. Set for inclusion on the emcee/beatsmith’s forthcoming compilation album, this cut finds Scram serving up an unconventionally catchy, sampled instrumental driven by a retro-informed bassline and jazzy piano chords as he spits about his growth from a young, weed-loving ne’er-do-well to an older and richer but equally weed-loving hip-hop superstar. The moral of this story? Stay in drugs, kids, and don’t do school. On second thought, you’d probably be better off ignoring my advice – that is, except when I advise listeners digging this track to pick up a copy of Scram Jones’ Beast Music Compilation, set to hit stores and online retailers sometime in the fourth quarter of this year.
