Sean Kingston ft. B.o.B - Hope is a River

Producer:
K-Jay and PHE
Album:
King of Kingz Mixtape

Though many big-name artists are quick to voice their disenchantment with the music game, no amount of industry B.S. can erase that triumphant moment when one realizes that one’s long-fought-for dreams are finally going to become a reality. Though Sean Kingston got his big break years ago, the Caribbean-pop hitmaker certainly hasn’t forgotten how it feels to be a hungry up-and-comer; on album leak Hope Is a River, he harks back to those days, reliving his early hustle over ringing piano chords and stop-start percussion from producers K-Jay and PHE. And who should jump aboard for a guest verse but rap’s resident expert on the struggle to hit it big? On the front, ATL heavyweight B.o.B shouts-out “...all the underdogs who put their favorite artist on the walls.” With Bobby Ray’s heartfelt rhymes and a uniquely catchy instrumental, this motivational ballad is a departure from Kingston’s usual uptempo fare. Think it’s a good look? Then be sure to check out the rest of what Kingston’s cooked up on Feb 3, when his DJ Ill Will/DJ Drama hosted King of Kingz street album hits the ‘net.
