Sean Price & M-Phazes - Dump in the Gut

Later this month, NYC mic-murderer Sean Price and Australian beatsmith M-Phazes (both longtime Booth faves) will be taking listeners on a journey to the Land of the Crooks. As a foretaste of what you can expect on their debut collaborative project, the duo’s stepped into the Booth with a gritty lead single. A line from UGK‘s classic International Player’s Anthem (“Dump-Dump in the Gut, wild from the giddy-up.”) serves as centerpiece of Phazes’s brassy boom-bap beat, but its meaning is severed from the original, sexual context. Price’s aggressive, punchline-packed verses make clear that what’s being dumped is none other than hot lead. Like what you’re hearing? More is right around the corner. Featuring guest appearances from Roc Marciano, Guilty Simpson and Loudmouf Choir, the twosome’s joint EP is slated to hit stores Tuesday, December 17, via Coalmine Records.
