Sean Price - Genesis of the Omega

Posted 3 years ago
Producer:
The Alchemist
Album:

When you’re kicking off an album as epic as Sean Price‘s latest set, a simple English title just doesn’t suffice. That’s why the Heltah Skeltah vet decided to go with the Greek-infused Genesis of the Omega, rather than the more pedestrian “Start of the End.” (By way of further explanation, he added, “I read too many comic books.”) Newly released as a single, the record certainly lives up to its melodramatic title, with the underground veteran delivering his trademark two-fisted punchline lyricism over The Alchemist‘s tension-fraught sample work. Todd Angkuswan ties the package together with an official video depicting the artist as a homicidal lumberjack. No, really. Released in October 2012, via Duck Down, Sean Price’s Mic Tyson LP is available now from record stores and online retailers.
