Sean Price, Billy Danze & Maffew Ragazino ft. DJ Babu - Land of the Crooks

M-Phazes
Album:

More than 25 years after Jeru The Damaja dubbed his borough “Land of the Crooks” on classic single D. Original, Manhattan keeps on makin’ it, and Brooklyn keeps on takin’ it. (OK, I mixed my old-school references there, but you get what I’m saying.) On a freshly-released cut off Coalmine Records’ forthcoming compilation album, veteran emcee Sean Price lets the world know just how proud he is to be a B.K. native. Appropriately, he enlists a few local faves as collaborators; Billy Danze and Maffew Ragazino each celebrate their borough’s grimy reputation and illustrious musical heritage in a tightly-wound guest 16, and DJ Babu provides some cuts and scratches to complement the boom-bap production of M-Phazes (who hails from Melbourne, Australia, but we won’t hold it against him). Feeling it? Then keep your browsers locked for the latest on Unearthed, which currently lacks a drop date.
