Sheek Louch ft. Joell Ortiz & Termanology - This Is Hip-Hop

Posted 6 years ago
Featuring:
Producer:
Scram Jones
Album:
Donny Def Jam Mixtape

Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart once famously said about pornography that he couldn’t define it, but he knows it when he sees it. Similarly, in today’s wide-ranging rap field it’s nearly impossible to define hip-hop, but I know it when I hear it, and this new Sheek Louch song? Now This Is Hip-Hop. For his new mixtape leak the LOX founding father recruits producer Scram Jones to do what he does best, craft a gritty street banger, and Scram responds with a pounding beat that Sheek lyrically pounds into submission with a hip-hop culture reference rich verse. Also joining the fray are Boston representative and Statik Selektah running partner Termanology and Slaughterhouse alum Joell Ortiz, who once again proves he’s simply one of the best emcees working today with some dirtier than usual bars. Call this one whatever you want, just be sure you call it hip-hop. For more fearlessly uncompromised hip-hop, be sure to cop the recently-signed-to-Def Jam Sheek Louch’s aptly-named mixtape Donny Def Jam Mixtape, due out soon.
