ShowYouSuck - Flip Phone

Posted 3 years ago
Producer:
Thelonius Martin
Album:

In this era of iPhones and Samsung Galaxy S4s, the humble Flip Phone has been stereotyped as a tool of corner boys—that, or a stopgap solution for someone who just dropped their $400 smart phone in the toilet. The girl ShowYouSuck‘s been romancing, however, is apparently trying to bring ‘em back. On this new released single, recorded last summer as part of an open-door studio session with Thelonious Martin, the Chi-Town rhymesayer laments that he can’t seem to get in touch with the object of his affections, thanks to her inexplicable attachment to ratchet-ass technology. Martin backs the emcee’s bars with a dreamy, string-drenched soul sample. Flip Phone is part of forthcoming compilation album OMPP4: Slice After Death, scheduled to hit online retailers via Mishka on Tuesday, July 23.
