SkyBlew - The BackGROUND

Posted 3 years ago
Producer:
Backdraft
Album:
Life in 3rd Person EP

Like most people, SkyBlew‘s experienced some hard knocks and accumulated a few regrets during his time on this earth. When it comes to the Carolina representative, though, The BackGROUND is less than half the story. The lead single off Sky’s forthcoming collaborative mixtape with beatsmith Backdraft is an atmospheric ode to forward momentum. Featuring a vocal sample from What Ever You Say, a cut off Little Brother‘s 2003 debut set, ‘draft’s beat hews close to that record’s breezy, vintage feel. Blew laces his partner’s hazy, understated loops and rolling percussion rhythm with upbeat, conversational bars expressing his determination to progress despite the occasional frustrations of the hustle. Feeling it? Then be sure to cop the twosome’s Life in 3rd Person LP when it arrives on the ‘net in early November.
