When the Houston resurgence happened in the mid-2000s, one H-Town representative didn’t get the shine he was due – Slim Thug. Still chasing the recognition he deserves, the Boss of All Bosses is reloading for another shot at fame on his upcoming album, Tha Thug Show, which today we have a sneak preview of in the form of his new single, So High, featuring B.o.B. Nard & B provide the production, creating a laid-back banger with quick snares, hi-hats and catchy horns that form a head-nodding beat a little more energetic than the title may suggest. Far from your average love song, So High is primarily aimed at the fairer sex and so fittingly finds Thugga rapping in his signature mellow, seductive flow. Picking up B.o.B to lend an energetic verse and an even catchier chorus, So High comes together to form a easily enjoyable trifecta that could give the Miami Heat a run for their money. Will So High be Slim’s re-introduction to the mainstream? We’ll have to wait until the curtains go up on Tha Thug Show this fall to know for sure.
