Slum Village ft. Skyzoo and Focus… - Church (Remix)

Posted 4 years ago
Featuring:
Producer:
Young RJ
Album:
None (Promo Single)

Detroit veterans Slum Village took a trip back to The Dirty Slums and retrieved a gem in the form of a remix to Church, a much more laid back version than its Rhodes heavy counterpart. This time around, SV linked up with Skyzoo for added vocal flavor and Young RJ for production. Behind the boards RJ doesn’t disappoint, blessing the track with a piano sample and a bass line that creates a melodic simplicity that perfectly highlights Sky, T3, and Focus’ above average spittage. S Villa, known for bringing the unexpected and unique, remain true to form with their message as T3 raps, “this ain’t televangelism/ it’s real as realism/ its ill it’s nonfiction” letting you know that nothing has changed with the group’s blueprint, but with the music things are sure to keep pushing forward. Be sure to check out Slum Village’s Dirty Slums mixtape, out now, and keep it locked for more from the Detroit collective.
