Smoke DZA ft. Ab-Soul - Hearses

Featuring:
Producer:
DJ Dahi
Album:

Haters and sucker emcees, let it not be said that Smoke DZA never did anything for you. On his latest promo single, the Harlem rhymesayer makes it known that he’s handing out free Hearses to anyone standing in his way. Though this joint lacks the political rhetoric of Smoke’s last feature, Black Independence, the fire and conviction he showcased on that cut come through even more clearly here, as he hits foes with his patented “16 bars of death.” Joining the headliner over DJ Dahi‘s production, a piano-led arrangement that sizzles with understated intensity, TDE solider Ab-Soul grabs the mic to deliver a frenetic, wordplay-laced middle verse. (In one of the most stupid/brilliant lines I’ve heard in a hot minute, he spits: “Used to have them pipe dreams, now b*tches dream about my pipe.”) This deadly selection will appear on Smoke’s Dream.ZONE.Achieve LP, scheduled to drop digitally April 1. Ab-Soul fans are encouraged to check out the emcee’s guest contribution to Lupe Fiasco‘s Thorns & Horns, featured earlier today.

Update: We have added the Goldrush-directed visuals for DZA’s Hearses single.
