Soul Khan ft. Akie Bermiss - Mr. Governor

Posted 4 years ago
Producer:
Audible Doctor
Album:
Pursuance EP

Ever since the release of Soul Khan‘s latest EP, Pursuance, the DJBooth Freestyle Alum has unleashed a fury of truth-infused tracks free of fabrication and fear. Following his soulful trip through Someone’s Pocket, Khan drives you down death row with the eye-opener, Mr. Governor. Off top, the emcee enlists Akie Bermiss for the hook, whose plea to state officials for his life brings motion to a lifeless world whose judgment only fashions more murder: “They are killing me tonight….they are murdering me tonight/Mr. Governor, we discovered a/body of evidence, please don’t cover us/in a black mask and make us/ turn out the light/...” Over the organs and vocal samples, Khan remembers Troy Davis on the Audible Doctor production, making this stand out single a worthy addition to any debate on whether the death penalty is ethical. After this, I want to know what else the emcee has on his mind. If you do to, Pursuance is available for purchase via Khan’s BandCamp. Now…meditate on that.
